In August 2019 Arctic Biomaterials moved all functions of its medical facility to the current location with excellent capabilities for medical production. The Medical Business Unit of Arctic Biomaterials now celebrates the 4 year anniversary at the heart of Tampere Healthcare District! The site has a 550-square-meter ISO Class 7 clean room, more injection molding capability, and more space for all processing, QC, and packaging needs, including a 300-square-meter laboratory with modern analytical characterization equipment. The capabilities and technological possibilities for R&D and OEM production have added value to the Arctic Biomaterials Glass Fiber Technology.
The location at Arvo Ylpön katu 41, 33520 Tampere, Finland, is right next to Tampere University Hospital and the University´s Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology. The location at the heart of Tampere Healthcare District is exceptional for the development of ABM´s materials and for the cooperation with ABM´s partners.
Arctic Biomaterials develops and manufactures bioresorbable composite materials for medical applications, including ultra-strong glass fiber composites, even for load-bearing indications. They also provide product development and ISO Class 7 clean room contract manufacturing services for bioabsorbable implants (injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, laser cutting, machining, etc.).
