We are seeking a new teammate, R&D Engineer, for our New Technologies Team!

You will be working with innovative people and contributing to the development of future manufacturing processes in our company. Arctic Biomaterials Oy (ABM) produces bio-based and biodegradable compound and composite solutions. The biodegradable fiber reinforced materials produced with ABM’s technology fulfill customer needs in demanding technical and medical applications. ABM offers a sustainable alternative to several oil-based technical plastics. In the medical field, we offer bioresorbable composite solutions with increased strength. You: R&D Engineer
You will strengthen our Medical Research & Development team. You will participate in the development of composite manufacturing technologies, and evaluate and introduce new methods and solutions to complete the path from material to product. The position requires knowledge of production equipment, design, manufacturing, and automation. You will co-operate with other personnel and departments who will contribute to your R&D work and at the same time will be affected by the work you are creating.

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • M.Sc. degree or relevant education in Automation Sciences or General Sciences and Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production development, automation, or engineering
  • Experience in machining, manufacturing, and 3D design is required
  • Analytical and structured approach to work
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Creative problem-solving skills, interpreting and accurately reporting results and drawing conclusions
  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills, both spoken and written
