Dr. Ville Ellä, our R&D Director for New Technology, will deliver a presentation at OMTEC 2025. Dr. Ellä will deliver his presentation, titled “Biomaterial Opportunities,” on Wed, June 18th, as part of the educational session “Developments in Metals and Bioresorbables Showcase the Future of Orthopedic Materials,” beginning at 2:00 pm.
In his talk, Dr. Ellä will address the challenges of bioresorbable implant development, including material limitations, high production costs, and complex manufacturing processes. He will introduce X3 fiber composite, an innovative, high-strength, fully resorbable composite designed to overcome these barriers. This biomaterial is now accessible to orthopedic companies. X3 fiber composite enables orthopedic companies to leverage a biomaterial that provides excellent mechanical performance, bioactivity, and manufacturability. The presentation offers practical insights into how OEMs and manufacturers can efficiently adopt X3 fiber composite into their production pipelines.
